Welcome Message

We would like to welcome all the participants to the Dasan Conference on “Nanotechnology: from healthcare platforms to clinical nanomedicine” to be held from November 22 through November 24, 2012, in Gyeongju, Korea, on behalf of the organizing committee. The conference is organized by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) and hosted by the Korea Society of Nanomedicine (KSN) and Seoul National University (SNU).

Since 2002, KOFST has promoted development of national science and technology by hosting prestigious conferences. As an outcome of these efforts, the Dasan conference on “Nanotechnology: from healthcare platforms to clinical nanomedicine” is designed to bring a selected number of renowned international and domestic scientists together to discuss their current research.

As the Dasan Conference on “Nanotechnology: from healthcare platforms to clinical nanomedicine” focuses on nanotechnologies for clinical application, the following topics will be discussed: i) Nanodiagnosis, ii) Nanoimaging, iii) Nanotherapeutics, iv) Emerging technologies for Nanomedicine, v) Clinical application of nanomedicine and safety issues.

We eagerly anticipate lively discussion of frontier research in the biological, chemical, physical, pharmaceutical, toxicological and medical sciences during the conference, which may lead to future collaboration and scientific achievement.

The conference will be held in Gyeongju, the capital of the ancient kingdom of Silla (57 BC – 935 AD) that ruled most of the Korean Peninsula for three centuries. A great number of historical sites and cultural properties from this powerful kingdom still remain in the city.

We, the co-chairs, would like to express our deep appreciation in advance to the session chairs and to the organizing committee members and staffs for their invaluable dedication to making this conference a success.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Gyeongju.

Profs. Dong Soo Lee and Se Hwa Yoo
Co-Chairs of the Organization Committee for the Dasan Conference
